William Lisle Marr , born 1891, was the son of Thomas Marr and Ellen Carr. The family lived at Kelloe, Co. Durham. In the 1911 census they were at 52, South View, Kelloe. William's mother had died. William was 20 and worked as a coal filler.

William served in WW1 and survived. He was the brother of June Palmer's grandmother, Ethel Marr.
